Note: this cable is designed to connect a charging station with a Type 2 socket to a car with a Type 1 inlet, and does not include a portable charging unit (EVSE).
⚠️ Safety warning — do not extend the cable and do not add adapters
This is a continuous charging cable (Mode 3) that connects a charging station to the car. It is strictly prohibited to extend it with an extension cord, to connect two cables to each other, or to add any adapter between the cable connector and the car's charging inlet.
This is a regulatory requirement in Israel. The Israeli Electricity Authority guidelines for EV charging, section 9(d): "The use of an adapter for the EV connector (an adapter between the connector on the charging cable and the vehicle inlet) is prohibited". Section 12(c) prohibits the use of extension cords, adapters and splitters to supply a charging device. Section 8 limits the charging cable length to 8 m (and up to 10 m for a station that includes a cable management system).
The danger: Charging draws a high current continuously for hours. Every additional connection point generates heat, and the heat raises the resistance even further — until the connector melts and there is a risk of fire. An adapter on the car side also puts the car's own charging inlet at risk, and it is expensive to replace.
Warranty void: extending the cable or using an adapter of any kind voids the product warranty — both the ChargingEV warranty and the manufacturer's warranty. ChargingEV will not be liable for any damage to the vehicle, property or person resulting from such use.
If the cable does not reach the car — choose a suitable length or change where you park; do not extend it.
