Looking for a Volvo EV charger? All Volvo models sold in Israel charge via a Type 2 inlet, so all of ChargingEV's portable chargers and charging stations are compatible with them – Volvo EX30, EX40 / XC40 Recharge, EC40, EX90 and XC60 / XC90 plug-in hybrid. What differs between models is the maximum power the car accepts when charging at home (AC), and that's what determines which charger to buy.

Which charging solution is right for your Volvo?
- Home charging station (wallbox) – the solution for everyday charging at your regular parking spot. With a three-phase home connection, an 11kW station takes full advantage of faster charging on these models: EX30, EX40 / XC40 Recharge, EC40 / C40, EX90. Installation by a licensed electrician, plus an inspection by a certified electrical inspector before first use.
- 3.5kW portable charger – for occasional and on-the-go charging from a sound, grounded household socket (up to 10A). A great backup charger to keep in the car, for visiting family and friends or on vacation.
Under the Israeli Electricity Authority guidelines: never connect a charger through an extension cord, splitter or adapter – neither at the socket nor between the cable and the car.

❓ Which charger fits the Volvo?
Any charger or charging station with a Type 2 connector fits all Volvo models sold in Israel. For everyday charging at home – a home charging station installed by a licensed electrician: single-phase (7.6kW) or three-phase (11kW). For occasional and on-the-go charging – a 3.5kW portable charger for a household socket.
❓ Will an 11kW charging station charge my Volvo faster?
Only on models that support three-phase charging (EX30, EX40 / XC40 Recharge, EC40 / C40, EX90). Single-phase models are limited to their single-phase charging power, so a single-phase station is enough for them.
❓ Can I charge the Volvo from a regular household socket?
For occasional charging – yes. Under the Israeli Electricity Authority guidelines, a portable charger with a household plug is permitted for occasional charging away from your regular parking spot, at up to 10A, from a sound, grounded socket and without an extension cord, splitter or adapter. For everyday charging at your regular parking spot you need a charging station or a dedicated industrial socket installed by a licensed electrician.
